Stellest Lenses in Peachtree Corners

Early childhood vision problems can make it harder for kids to keep up in school, sports, and everyday activities. For example, myopia (nearsightedness) is becoming increasingly common in children and often worsens as they grow. At Peachtree Corners Eye Clinic, we’re proud to offer a modern solution designed to manage this progression, protecting young eyes as they grow.

Essilor® Stellest® lenses are the first myopia management spectacle lenses to receive FDA market authorization. They not only correct blurry vision but also help slow myopia progression in children as they get older.

How Stellest lenses work

Stellest lenses use advanced Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target (H.A.L.T.) technology. The lenses contain 1,021 invisible lenslets that work together to create a signal called myopic defocus. This helps slow the elongation of the eye, which is a key factor in worsening nearsightedness.

Clinical studies have shown that Stellest lenses can slow myopia progression by an average of 71% compared to standard single vision lenses.¹

With consistent wear, these eyeglass lenses help children see clearly today while also supporting healthier vision in the future. For best results, children should wear them about 10 hours a day, 6 days per week.

Who are Stellest lenses best for?

In the past, myopia management options were limited, especially for younger children who may not be ready for contact lens options such as ortho-k. Stellest lenses offer a comfortable, glasses-based option that fits easily into a child’s daily routine.

Stellest lenses are typically recommended for children ages 6–12 who have myopia, with or without astigmatism. Because these lenses are built into everyday eyeglass frames, they’re a practical choice for younger patients who need both vision correction and myopia control.

Supporting healthy vision as your child grows

If you think Stellest lenses may be right for your child, we encourage you to schedule a pediatric eye exam at Peachtree Corners Eye Clinic. Our experienced eye doctors can evaluate your child’s vision and discuss the best myopia management options for their needs and lifestyle.

How long does treatment last?

Stellest lenses help slow myopia progression, but your child’s prescription may still change as they grow. Regular eye exams help us monitor changes and update prescriptions as needed.

Are Stellest lenses covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by insurance plan since Stellest lenses are relatively new. We recommend checking with your insurance provider, and our team is happy to help review your options.

Will my child need a second pair of glasses?

No. Stellest lenses are designed for full-time wear and can be used as your child’s primary pair of glasses for daily activities.

What if my child has trouble adjusting?

Most children adapt within a few days. If adjustment takes longer or your child experiences discomfort, we recommend a follow-up visit so we can make sure everything is working as it should.
